Velvet Clove: Found & Finished offers a limited number of custom commissions each year. This exclusive service allows you to collaborate directly with the Curator to transform a found piece, or bring a bespoke art installation to life.
Our work is priced to reflect the specialised sourcing, design time, and exclusive artistry detailed in The Finishing Process.
Our Commission Tiers
We accept two main types of custom projects, ensuring clarity and scope for both parties.

The Found Transformation (Furniture Focus)
• Scope: Reworking a piece of your own furniture, or having us source a specific antique item, to be transformed using our signature finishes (e.g., custom upholstery, deep colour treatments, detailed patina).
• Starting Investment: Projects begin at $2,500.

The Bespoke Narrative (Art/Installation Focus)
• Scope: Creating a unique piece of Finished Art tailored to your theme, space, or story (e.g., a custom BookNook installation, a unique curiosity cabinet, or custom-designed wearable art).
• Starting Investment: Projects begin at $1,500.
The Four- Step Process
We ensure a seamless, transparent experience for all commissioned work.
Enquiries & Vision: Click the link “Begin Your Commission Enquiry” and use the form to share your initial idea, budget range, and any inspirational photos.
Feasibility & Quote: We review the scope, source potential materials, and provide a preliminary quote (valid for 30 days) and projected timeline.
Design & Deposit: Upon acceptance, a non-refundable design deposit (e.g., 50% of the total quote) secures your spot and initiates the detailed design phase.
Creation & Delivery: The finishing work begins. Upon completion, the final payment is due before the piece is delivered or shipped (freight details apply).
