A structural study in wearable insulation. This hand-crocheted cardigan is designed as a protective layer for transitional spaces, emphasising density, weight, and a deep hood. Softness here is treated as architecture rather than ornament.

The Provenance

This piece marks the first accession in the Textile Study department. It was developed as an exploration of modular construction, stitch repetition, and the relationship between warmth and form.

The Craft

Fully hand-crocheted using 8-ply acrylic fibre selected for durability and structural retention. Raised seams clarify the geometry of the garment and reinforce high-stress points. A hand-affixed leather Velvet Clove tag serves as the only branding.
