The Archival Description

This five-piece assembly recalls the foundational archetypes of the Terracotta Army: the Archer, the General, the Infantryman, and the Companion Horse. Each figure is hand-sculpted from dense black clay, drawing from the weight and grounded presence of the original Xi’an excavations.

Rather than functioning as ornament alone, the set invites a memento mori reading for the scholar. Displayed as a cohesive row, the figures establish a rhythmic historical cadence, particularly suited to bookshelves or the margins of a private study lined with dark-bound volumes.
